SPRING 2010 NEWSLETTER

Another Annapolis Valley winter has come and gone and it’s now time to dust off the cleats and get prepared for another summer soccer season! The winter program is winding down with play offs in the process of completion. In the meantime our attention now turns to the upcoming outdoor soccer season.

KINGS WEST SOCCER REGISTRATION

Kings West will hold summer soccer registration at the Soccer Centre in Kentville on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 6pm-8pm, and Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 6pm to 8pm. Kings West will also be holding soccer registration at the Glooscap Elementary School. Please refer to this website for date to be announced. Registration fees have increased by $5.00 for minis and $10.00 for youth players this year as Soccer Nova Scotia increased their player fees as well as to cover the increased costs of running a soccer club. Registration forms are attached or can be picked up/dropped off in the main foyer of the Indoor Soccer Centre in Kentville commencing Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Registration forms will also be available to download commencing on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from this website. Do not leave soccer registration until the last minute as last year we turned away approximately twenty youth players due to late registrations. Teams will be filled in the order that registrations are received. Soccer registration is grouped according to age and then by the community in which the player resides. The Kings West Soccer Club will entertain requests for players to play outside of their community, however will be done so to accommodate numbers.

VALLEY DISTRICT SPRING ACADEMY

The Valley District Soccer Association is pleased to introduce the first Spring Academy program which will commence April 12, 2010. Attached with this newsletter is the broucher/registration form which can be completed and delivered to the Kentville Soccer Centre. Spaces are limited so don’t delay.

COACHES NEEDED!

d) Senior Community (Kentville) June 3rd 6-9pm, June 4th 6-9pm, June 5th 9am to 3pm. (Suitable for U-12 to U-18)

U-10 HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

The Kings West Soccer Club will be hosting both the boys and girls High Performance Program. This year the program will be the responsibility of the Valley District Soccer Association and tryouts will be held at the Kentville Soccer Centre on April 26, 2010. Girls tryouts will commence at 5:30pm while the Boys tryouts will commence at 6:30pm. There is a tryout fee.

KINGS WEST ACADEMY

Due to the overwhelming success of the U-8/10 Academy programs in May 2008 and 2009 the Kings West Soccer Club, in partnership with the Acadia University men and women’s soccer teams, will conduct the 3rd annual Kings West Academy. This free program operates during the month of May commencing Monday, May 3, 2010 tentatively on Kentville Field #4, next to the soccer centre. There will be a coaching clinic for Kings West coaches only on Saturday, May 1st at the indoor soccer centre commencing at 9am.

This clinic will provide coaches with all the tools to ensure that you have a great summer. This year registered players will be forwarded a Kings West Academy Code of Contuct. Only those players officially registered with the Kings West Soccer Club by April 28, 2010 will be admitted to the Kings West Academy.
